The tubular pipe belt conveyor is a system conceived to solve many of the problems existing with conventional conveyor systems. At the loading point of the material, the tubular pipe Conveyor is open as a conventional belt conveyor, then it closes up into a pipe shape containing the conveyed material and returns to open at the discharge point.
There are many advantages of tubular pipe belt conveyor compared to other general belt conveyor, that is why this series belt conveyor are widely used in recent years. SKE will bring you to know more about it.
1. Small radius bending ability
Compared with other types of belt conveyors, an important advantage of tubular pipe belt conveyors is the small radius bending ability. For most applications, this advantage is the most important, because when the direction of the conveyor belt needs to change sharply, there is no need to establish a transfer point.
The supporting idlers are looped around the conveyor belt and can be bent in any direction. The bending can be on the horizontal plane, vertical plane or even on both sides at the same time, eliminating the transfer point, and also eliminating the need for additional pulleys, hoppers, dust collectors or dust removal equipment, foundations and power distribution, so material loss will be significantly reduced. But the most important thing is that the maintenance of the reprint point is completely eliminated. A round pipe belt conveyor can have multiple bending sections, so a tubular pipe belt conveyor can replace multiple universal belt conveyors and their associated transfer points and the above-mentioned additional equipment.
2. Large angle tilt capability
Compared with the general belt conveyor, the tubular pipe belt conveyor has a larger large-angle inclined conveyor capacity. Due to the circular cross-section, the contact area between the material and the conveyor belt is increased, and the conveyor inclination angle is increased by 50%. , which can be up to 27. The larger the inclination angle, the shorter the conveyor length, and it is more economical or may become the only feasible solution under space and performance constraints.
3. Conveyor belt is round tube shape during return
The return belt of the tubular pipe belt conveyor is also in the shape of a round tube. The conveyor belt is rolled up and the overlapping part is at the bottom of the round tube. This not only makes the conveyor belt pass the same bending route as the load side, but also makes the conveyor belt dirty. The side is wrapped up, and the possibility of material dripping or scattering is very small.
4. The throughput is the same as the larger universal belt conveyor
The throughput of a tubular pipe belt conveyor is usually the same as that of a general belt conveyor with a bandwidth 2.5 to 3 times its pipe diameter. For example, a tubular pipe belt conveyor with a diameter of 300mm (12in) has the same throughput as a general belt conveyor with a bandwidth of 800mm (30in), idler groove angle 20, and discharge angle 20. The support of the tubular pipe belt conveyor is only 635mm (25in) wide, and the minimum support of the general belt conveyor needs to be 1050mm (41in) wide. In the case where the installation space of the conveyor is limited, such as in a tunnel, the use of a tubular tube belt conveyor can design a smaller tunnel cross section.
5. Standard parts
Tubular pipe belt conveyors and general belt conveyors can use the same standard components. Because the belt of the tubular pipe belt conveyor is flat at the head, tail and tension pulleys, and the belt speed series is also the same, it is possible to use the standard universal belt conveyor rollers, bearings and driving devices. The standard components used are available on the market, and people are familiar with these devices, so the use of tubular pipe belt conveyors is a suitable choice.
6. Simultaneous transportation of up and down strokes
Like general belt conveyors, tubular pipe belt conveyors can convey materials on the lower stroke in addition to the materials on the upper stroke. In order to convey the material on the return journey, the conveyor belt must be turned 180 degrees so that the overlapping part is on top, and the dirty side of the conveyor belt is still facing inward. Although it is necessary to add pulleys and driving devices, it is more economical to install only one tubular pipe belt conveyor than to install two universal belt conveyors.
